Title: The Design of TiDB’s Columnar Storage Engine, TiFlash
Time: August 11, 6 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Doors will open at 5:30 PM
Introduction:
TiDB is an open-source, real-time HTAP database that works great for both transactional and analytical workloads. TiFlash is the analytical extension in the TiDB family that powers TiDB via columnar storage and a massively parallel processing (MPP) query engine. This talk will discuss the design and the ideas behind the columnar storage engine. We will focus on how data is stored on disk in order to combine fast writes with efficient analytics.
